My Santa Barbara wedding was easily one of the highlights of my California trip. From the moment I arrived, everything just seemed to fall into place. Nicole & Ryan was amazing, the vendors were incredibly welcoming and collaborative, and the beautiful architecture of the Santa Barbara Courthouse gave me so much to work with creatively. What I particularly loved about this wedding was having plenty of opportunities to photograph the couple throughout the day, from the getting-ready moments to the ceremony and all the portraits in between. I was able to mix my love for candid moments with more intentional, editorial-style portraits, while still keeping things fun and relaxed. There was so much creative freedom, and working alongside a videographer and coordinator who were equally passionate about their craft made the experience even better. I was constantly looking for interesting light, different compositions, and little moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. By the end of the day, I had walked nearly 12,000 steps, barely eaten, and was completely exhausted. But I remember going to bed that night feeling genuinely proud of what I had accomplished. It was one of those weddings that reminded me how much I enjoy doing this, especially when the people, the environment, and the creative energy all come together.
